CHEROKEE HOLIDAY

Come by and see us!!

Cherokee Holiday 2026

The festival is jam-packed with cultural activities and events for all ages. Traditional games, competitions, handmade arts, crafts, food, dance and music hardly scratch the surface of what you can experience here.
New exhibits often debut at our national museums and restored historical sites this time of year. The Inter-Tribal Powwow, held on the Cherokee Nation Cultural Grounds, takes the celebration late into the night, as dancers from across the United States compete for top prizes and honors. Our elected leaders fulfill countless duties over Cherokee National Holiday. To know what our tribe is doing and what’s ahead of us, start by listening as the Principal Chief delivers the State of the Nation address. The Cherokee National Holiday is a festive time in Tahlequah, a time for family and friends.
We will be set up at the Cherokee Artisans Marketplace.

Dog Days of Summer are upon us

It's been a while since I have sent out any updates.
Life keeps us pretty busy here for sure. I am almost done with a book illustration project for Harper Collins Heartdrum Imprint. Once it is completed, I will be working on my first two children's books! I am very excited about that, as you can imagine.
John has been going daily to help care for his dad. He is the best son!! He is also working on his next submission for next year's calendar and has put in submissions for a Mvskoke art show.
No rest for the weary!

The Cherokee Seven Clan Collection plushy finger puppet toys are selling well and are available in several places now. It is still surreal to see them out in the world.
This Fall I am contracted to work with Soft Stuff Creations on a few larger plushies. Can't wait to see what comes out of that! I hope that it leads to even more!
